General Policies:
Please read the following policies of Skyhaven Escape before you make your reservation. The guest is responsible for knowing the policies and adhering to them.
Reservations - Reservations may be made up to one year in advance. The day you make reservation, your deposit is due either by Visa or Master Card, or you have 7 days to mail in a check or money order. The deposit is half of the sub-total. The balance is due within 14 days (two weeks) before your arrival date, either by Visa, Master Card, check, or money order. There will be a $25.00 dollar service charge added to any returned checks. Your reservation may either be made by calling our office or on-line.
Rentals to Two or More Parties - In the event one party rents a home and one party cancels, the remaining party is obligated to the reserved dates & charges.
Cancellation Policy - Due to holding these accommodations and in consideration of the fact that we did not rent this unit or these dates to others, we cannot return any payments unless you cancel two weeks prior to your arrival date (14 days). If you cancel, and the date is greater than (14 days) from your arrival date, we will refund your deposit. If you cancel less than 14 days to your arrival day, you forfeit all monies, unless we are able to rent the dates you had selected. If you need to modify or cancel your reservation, please email or call us as soon as possible.
Security and Damage Deposit - When you make your reservation and you do not use a credit card, an additional cash security/damage deposit will be charged in the amount of $300. After check out and your unit has been inspected and nothing found missing or damaged, your money will be returned to you within 14 days. If you are using a credit card, we charge $100 at the time of your booking. About two weeks before you arrive, we charge the balance due.
Community Rules - Guests agree to avoid disturbing any neighbors with respect to noise, odors, disposal of refuse, animals, and parking. Visitors of guests must comply with all terms and conditions stated in this agreement.
Cleaning Fee - Skyhaven Escape has a cleaning fee of $25, which in non-refundable. This fee is for sterilizing the bathrooms, bed linens, floors and kitchens and for general cleaning.
Check-In and Check-Out - Check in time is 4PM. Check out time is 11AM. We require that you lock the house and leave the keys on the kitchen counter. The package that we mail you will include directions to your rental and keys to your rental. No late checkouts are allowed unless you have permission from the office.
Smoking - Skyhaven Escape is a non-smoking property.
Cleanup for Checkout - When you are ready to leave, please put all used towels on top of the washer. Please place all your final dirty dishes in the sink. Housekeeping will do the rest! We are sorry you have to leave, but have a safe trip home, and we hope to see you again.
Linens - All of our rentals are equipped with fresh linens for your stay. We do not have daily housekeeping for our rentals, and ask that if you should need more linens during your stay, you may use our laundry soap to wash them using the washer and dryer in the utility room.
Insects – While all units are sprayed monthly - wasps, moths, ladybugs and other insects sometimes affect the area around Skyhaven Escape. We are in the mountains, and sometimes we may have an unwanted little guest that might decide to visit you and your family.
Weather - Weather changes fast in the mountains of Cloudcroft. Please plan your trip according to the weather. We recommend chains and/or four wheel drive vehicles during the winter months (December to March) No refund will be given due to weather conditions.
Additional terms and conditions - It is understood this agreement is for a short-term rental home. As this is a fully equipped home, there are no extra cleaning services provided unless specifically requested and paid for by the guest. If there is damage noted by guest upon arrival, guest is to notify the office immediately to arrange for repair. Prior to the guest arrival, the premises and inventory are throughly inspected. Any damage or missing inventory will be charged to the guest.
